We were contacted last Saturday night by a caring couple who had witnessed a cat being hit by a car on 12th Street and 8th Avenue North. We contacted one of our Vet offices and they took the injured cat there for emergency care. Stella had a broken pelvis and broken tibia along with other life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Stella was helped to pass yesterday.
We placed a found card at the Great Falls Animal Shelter as well as posted on Facebook. Sadly, no owner came forward. With every single cat helped by the Pet Paw-see, there is a lesson. This all could have been prevented if the family had kept her indoors or built a catio. Great Falls, please understand there is a leash law and you can’t let your cat wander. It’s not a matter of if your pet will be injured, it’s a matter of when.
You can make a difference. The next time your cat wants to go outside, please look in Stella’s eyes. Her last days were painful.
