Our largest expense is veterinary care. Disease testing, vaccinations, worming, ear mite treatments, and spay/neuter surgeries all add up. This is not even counting the many injured, sick, or special needs cats we take in each year who need surgeries, amputations, and ongoing medications or vet care.

Every cat saved costs $175 in basic care, on average.  From January 1 – October 31, 2023, we spent $62,803 on veterinary expenses. We spent an additional $18,473 on 346 spay/neuter surgeries for low-income pet parents.

Also, due to the increased influx of cats and the limited number of foster homes, we must put many cats in boarding facilities. Even though we are blessed to partner with great facilities, it still gets pricey, with January – October costing $$6,897.

This is not even counting the cost of basic needs like food, litter, and bedding!
