**Meet Tephra!**
Tephra is a sleek, black kitten with a story as unique as her name. She was originally trapped as part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project, a humane approach to controlling the feral cat population. In a TNR program, cats are trapped, spayed or neutered, and then returned to their outdoor colonies, helping to prevent overpopulation while allowing them to continue living where they are familiar. Tephra’s ear is notched as a sign she’s been fixed, a badge of her journey from outdoor life to the comfort of home.
At first, Tephra was returned to her colony, but she quickly realized the outdoor life wasn’t for her. With her sharp instincts, she tamed herself down and convinced her caregiver that she belonged indoors. Now, Tephra is loving life inside, soaking up affection and showing her playful side. She’s proven that while she may have started her life in the wild, she’s ready to settle down and enjoy being a spoiled housecat.
Tephra is looking for a forever home where she can continue this indoor life of comfort. She would do best in a calm environment where she can feel safe and loved. For her well-being and the safety of little ones, no adopters with children under the age of six, please.
If you’re searching for a sweet, clever, and independent kitten who’s left her wild days behind, Tephra is ready to be your new best friend!
